Life holds no value unless there is a purpose to it. More often than usual, people spend their entire lives searching for their purpose of living. What they do not realize that the purpose simply lies with the values you hold and the desires you have.
Take a deep breath and look around you if you have time. Of course, that would be subject to a chance, since there is a rat race going around and you are smack in the middle; rushing from work to home, from home to work in an insanely fast-paced world. Everyone around you is carrying on with his life with no regard for his ignored soul that is craving for that ultimate peaceful feeling that runs through your bloodstream deep through to your soul and completes you. And when their souls can take no more and their physical bodies are exhausted, powerless, do they have the audacity to question their purpose in life? No.
Often experts suggest that one should indulge in a question and answer session with self. It would not only aid self-realization but would also help one describe the current stature of life and what follows. What is the purpose of one’s life? Is it simply earning money and spending it on worldly things? Living and dying like a machine with no awareness about that entity that exists within you? You simply cannot live like that. Because, the purpose of your life incorporates your entire self, the physical as well as the soul. Your purpose in life is your connection to God, to the truth, to whatever you believe to be the real reason of your existence. And it is your journey to happiness.
Finding your purpose in life may seem like a very philosophical question that you do not have the courage to answer, but that is just it! Once you have fully realized that there is a greater point to life than throwing it away on frivolous things, the next step is being brave. Put yourself under a spotlight and wonder. Think of all the things that make you happy. Not just momentarily but those that engulf you completely. For this happiness is the resonance of your existential, spiritual and physical self merging into the one, and this utter joy will lead you to your purpose in life.
Once you have been brave and decided on that thing that makes you genuinely happy; follow your heart. Every decision that you make and every step that you take forward should be in accordance to what makes you happy. For all those who are too afraid and believe that following ones own path instead of the ones that have been laid out by people before them is the ticket to a good life, they are gravely mistaken. It could be a good life, but a satisfied one- not in a million years. When you follow your wants, your desires and specifically focus on your soul, everything else will follow; may it be fame, fortune, family or love.
Most of us have lived most of our lives in the struggle of being someone who is popular, rich, successful and accomplished, forgetting the true meaning or true purpose of our life. Forgetting that when we lose touch with our true self, then we lose our purpose as well. Finding your purpose in life may be a difficult beginning, but once you have recognized it, and are brave enough to chase it and hold on to it with determination, then everything else in life will become easier. Take risks, find your joy and find your purpose. That should be your purpose in life!
